Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Wednesday workers barged into a medical college in Pune and vandalised the office of the dean. This incident occurred after the dean was allegedly caught accepting a bribe in exchange for securing an MBBS seat at the college.
MNS party members wreaked havoc in the dean’s office at Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Medical College. They caused extensive damage by ransacking furniture and computers in Dean’s cabin. Multiple computers, tables, and chairs were left in a state of disarray.
The MNS demonstrators vociferously protested against the dean, who was red-handedly caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh to guarantee an MBBS seat in the institution.
The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical Hospital is under the administration of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The MNS student Sena has demanded stringent action against the Dean, Ashish Shrinath Banginwar, 54, and his associates involved in the scandal.
As per the complaint, the son of the complainant successfully cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2023 and was granted a seat at Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College. When the applicant’s father approached Dean Ashish, the latter allegedly demanded Rs 16 lakh in addition to the Rs 22.5 lakh admission fee.
